Yeah, it really is just…the exact same brand of lies in both cases. Nomura once said “it would be hard” to include a playable female character, and the Assassin’s Creed developers infamously tried to claim that adding one of their own would “double development time.”
Other people who formerly worked on the Assassin’s Creed series, of course, confirmed that it would actually take about a day.
Do you want to know why Nomura said that it would be hard to add a female character, BECAUSE THE STORY WAS DONE. IT’S ABOUT BROTHERHOOD, DEAL WITH IT. Final Fantasy has had DOZENS of female party members. DOZENS.

Nomura announces in 2013 that there are no female party members, more than a year later Tabata says the same thing, fans act surprised anyways. Amazing.
